台灣塔設計概念：

整體概念：

台灣塔是為了中華民國建國100周年紀念而建造的。從歷史的角度來看，中華民族一脈相傳，從黃帝已降傳承了近5000年智慧與文化。因此我們在雙塔結構中以反對稱的建築形式與語彙暗示了文化的傳承性以及融和性。

The Taiwan Tower is built for Republic of China 100 Anniversary. From the history perspective of view, our ancestors accumulated 5000 year’s wisdom and culture and pass on to us. Therefore, we took the “anti- symmetry” twin tower shape as a metaphor for the culture fusion and synergy.

建築意象上，雙塔的由來原是一塊手環玉珮，斷裂之後分成兩半，經過歲月洗禮各自成長發展成不同的格局。雖然是各自發展，但從雙塔反對稱的建築形式，語彙中可以得到兩這密不可分的關係。這樣的建築形式恰恰說明了中華民國自從國父孫中山創立之後，歷經東征、北閥，剿匪、抗戰，最後於民國38年分裂成兩個個體。再各自發展多年後，文化、經濟上仍然有可以交流。因此雙塔造型亦猶如舞者一般，必須保持良好的默契才能一起共舞。

The original idea comes from the integral Jade ring. It is a saying that the twin tower supposed to be a united one. As time went by, the pure and precious ring was broken due to the war. After that the broken rings have been taken of someone who rules the region well. This story represents the scenario of Taiwan and China. Though people were disconnected since 1949, they found their way to work and live well. After 1992, Taiwan and China started to exchange their experience in terms of Economics, Culture, Technology, and so on.

The icon building looks like a couple dancer, they need to move coordinately to act perfectly.

量體旋轉的意義在於兩邊地域在不同情境下分開成長，過程中不斷的蛻變，再造中華民族的盛世。另外旋轉的另一重意義也在於兩邊是平等互惠，相互依存。

The meaning of rotation is the story of two nations. Different countries put much effort to make the Chinese a better nation and a better race. Another notion of the revolving twin tower is equal and interdependent.

低部的裙樓，在機能使用上定義為台中願景館。我們以鳳梨這種台灣本土的水果代表建築外部表皮的分割語彙。台灣塔如同植物花朵一般從泥土堆長出來，非常的在地化。地景與裙樓的花瓣造型，代表中華民族五族(甚至更多)融合，每片花瓣都種植著不同的草皮、花朵或是灌木，在形而上的設計代表多元民族的結合，兼容並蓄的精神。

The lower building is Taichung Vision Hall. We use the pineapple, a indigenous fruit, as our façade pattern or totem. Doing so means this twin tower growing up from the mother land-Taiwan, just like the flower planting in soil.

The petal shape of landscape, combing with the Taichung Vision Hall, represents the multi-races living in China peacefully and safely. We try to cultivate different vernacular plants for making joyful and amazing “corner “in this site. Different plants are also a symbol of Chinese character-tolerance, mercy and wisdom.

台中願景館作為建築物正面的入口意象標誌，從基地南端的的進入，經由生態公園一步步的接近市民廣場，最後進入願景館。整個進入的過程是精心設計的，我們企圖打破傳統紀念性建築軸線式權威的路徑，整個地景設計以有機的自由曲線創造紀念性建築的另一種詮釋方式。

The main entrance located in the front side of Taichung Vision Hall. People who want to go to the Vision Hall will access from the southern eco-plaza. There are many spots designed elaborately during the route. That means we adopt Chinese space philosophy “sight-depth, spot-framing and twist and turn “to make the landscape and tower design a whole one.

We think the twin tower suppose to be another icon or monumental structure. So we break up the traditional solemn axis. Rather we use organic curves and eco ideas to make the plaza.

機能分區構想：

地面層配置只要分層前後兩區，主要入口廣場位於基地南側，提供良好的景深以及尺度以利體驗台灣塔的外觀。南側部分主要作為台中願景館的入口以及五星級飯店，酒店式公寓、以及百貨商場入口；細節上我們利用上下層分離概念進一步將台中願景館入口以及百貨商場入口高程定義在上半部，而酒店式公寓以及五星級飯店入口高程定義在下半部，如同機場的出入境入口一般，有效率的分隔進出動線同時作好管制。

The site is divided by the twin tower. The Sothern part is the entrance and eco plaza. People who want to explore the Taiwan Vision Hall and Residential Tower may access to the southern square. The ideas such as proportion, scale, and rhythm are put into the plaza design process.

The program of Residential Tower includes 5-Stars Hotel, luxury suites, long term and short term accommodations, Sky Park, sky gems, sky lounges, restaurants and gazebo. We use different level concept to filter the circulation of Taichung Vision Hall and Residential Tower.

有關辦公樓以及都市發展局辦公室由基地北側進入，與南側的願景館及住宿商場塔樓形成區隔。北側的開放空間性格比較類似後花園的格局，而南側的開放空間廣場則是低碳生態公園與市民廣場。主要停車入口設在基地南側，基地的南北廣場分別可以有車輛直接動線直接服務兩棟塔樓。

The southern and northern plaza have its own vehicle route to function efficiently.The northern square is designed for the office tower entrance.Those who work in Taichung Urban Development Department and other private sectors will access the Office Tower from northern plaza. The other feature of this tower is the “sky farming”. The idea of sky farming is from unban farming. We try to put some farming related business or function into office building. Because we think the “Green Industry “should contain the agriculture except solar technology or clean energy.

Through sky farming idea, we not only reach the goal of urban farming but farming urban. We might change the idea of horizontal zoning to vertical landscape.
