Synergy 

Synergy__ The interaction of two or more agents or forces so that their combined effect is greater than the sum of their individual effects.

Description：

Utilizing the unique kinetic potential of shape memory alloy wire the research will seek to develop a hybrid, interactive surface system. Beginning with a sheet matrix of flexible apertures a responsive lighting system will be developed in which flexinol actuators control the opening and closure of the apertures, concealing or revealing lights and sensors behind the surface.

As a result of the synergistic interplay between aperture motion, sensors, and light an indeterminate, dynamic character will be sought within the system, resulting in a fluctuating textural ambient effect.

Options for the development of the system within public space will be explored.

Idea：

The leaf was deployed the prototype of unit. Not only its geometry provides the possibilities for combination, but its structure proves the potential for Synergy.

The facade system can not be existed without interfering with the building structure system. By exploring the possibilities of building types can we realize the relationship between building structure and facade design.

In this case, a new type of culture would be help to develop a hybrid, interactive surface system.
