This design consists of a wooden structure used for a temporary exhibition that follows the principle of a matchbox.
It forms a hermetic cube for storage and transportation, which is easily manipulated, and can be moved to the site by a trailer or by dragging it as if it were a sled.
Once at the site, it can be opened out, and its volume doubles.
It has diverse functions: from a cabin for administration office to a temporary pavilion for exhibition.
Its interior houses a space that can be used day and night. Solar panel and wind generators produce the electricity for this module.
All the parameters were made with different types of plywood boards covered in a phenolc resin. A thick polyester insulator was used as insulation between the boards, forming the prefabricated panels attached to principle wood structure.
The unit forms a volume that reflects the Austin City according to the different seasons.
When open, it looks like a more inviting element that benefits from the surrounding views. When closed, the unit looks hermetic, almost sculptural, and the wood panels that hide the interior seal off all openings.
The abstract conception and design allow this cabin module to be located anywhere; it can even be moved easily from on place to another given that it has self-sufficient energy resources.
